Since 1997, Banca Carige asked for, and obtained, ratings from the most important international rating companies: Moody's, Standard & Poor's and IBCA (now Fitch). This allowed the Bank to effect further capital increases, directed to the international institutional investors, and was introductory to allow the provision of capital on the international markets.
