Who we are

With over 500 years of tradition, Gruppo Banca Carige today is one of Italy's largest banking, financial, insurance and social welfare groups, boasting over 1000 branches throughout the country and around 2 million clients.

The group's focus has always been on families, self-employed professionals, and small-to-medium-sized firms. In addition to Banca Carige, the parent company, the group includes:

• Cassa di Risparmio di Savona. Established in1840, it is the oldest savings bank in the Liguria region. Originating from Monte di Pietà (1479), it became part of Gruppo Carige in 2000, and today it is the leading bank in the province of Savona, with a presence in the provinces of Imperia and Cuneo. Boasting 50 branches, it is one of the province's main economic drivers for tourism, small businesses, trade, manufacturing and agriculture.
  
  
• Cassa di Risparmio di Carrara, established by the 1843 Ducal Decree, it immediately became the financial backer of the main public works in the municipality of Carrara. With 35 branches extending beyond Carrara into La Spezia, Versilia and Lunigiana areas, it has become a significant point of reference vis-à-vis support for processes of transformation of the local area's commercial and production facilities.
  
  
  
• Banca del Monte di Lucca is the historical successor of Monte di Pietà, founded in 1489 by the Consiglio Generale della Repubblica di Lucca (General Council of the Republic of Lucca). Thanks to the assiduousness of Fra Bernardino da Feltre, it has maintained its historic headquarters since 1517 in the Casa dell'Opera del Duomo. With a network of 22 branches, Banca del Monte di Lucca is also present in the provinces of Livorno, Pisa and Pistoia.
  
  
  
• Banca Cesare Ponti, which since 1871 has specialised in private banking and in personalised asset management, is distinguished for its confidentiality and personalisation of the client/bank relationship. It has been part of Gruppo Carige since 2004 and since 2011 has been the sole reference point for private banking clients in Lombardia. Its branches currently number 7, in Milan, Como, Genoa, Monza, Brescia and Varese.
  
  
  
• the group's savings management arm Carige Asset Management Sgr, established in 2003, specialises in management on a collective basis (mutual and pension funds) and on individual basis (asset management).
  
  
  
  
  
  
• the insurance companies Carige Assicurazioni (accident insurance) and Carige Vita Nuova (life insurance), founded in 2002 and 2000 respectively following the takeover of Levante Assicurazioni Spa, Norditalia Assicurazioni Spa and Basilese Vita Nuova Spa in 1997.
  
  
  
  
  
  
• Carige is also the majority shareholder in the consumer finance company Creditis Servizi Finanziari S.p.A. Established in 2006, it specialises in issuing personal loans, salary-deducted loans and revolving credit lines.
